Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do you take insurance?

We do not accept insurance. After years of working within the traditional insurance model, we found that it often leads to rushed visits and limits the ability to provide truly comprehensive, patient-centered care.

We operate on a cash-pay basis with transparent pricing, and all visit costs (initial and follow-up appointments) are clearly listed on our website. We accept HSA and FSA cards for eligible services and provide a detailed superbill after your visit, which you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. We also offer a platform to help simplify this process.

2. Do you provide routine GYN exams or primary care?

At this time, we do not provide routine well-woman exams or serve as a primary care practice. We encourage patients to continue regular preventive care, including pelvic exams and Pap smears, with their OB/GYN or primary care provider.

When appropriate, we do order screening tests such as mammograms and DEXA scans. Our practice specializes in menopause care, hormone therapy, and weight management, and we also treat conditions including insulin resistance, prediabetes, PCOS, and hypothyroidism.

3. Can you order labs?

Yes. We order blood work through Labcorp or Quest, depending on your preference and insurance coverage. We make every effort to code labs appropriately to maximize insurance coverage when possible.

For patients without insurance or with high-deductible plans, we also offer access to a platform with very affordable cash-pay lab options.

4. How often do I need to follow up?

Follow-up visits are individualized based on your goals and treatment plan. After an initial consultation, it is standard of care to follow up in approximately 2–3 months if you are prescribed hormone therapy. Once your perimenopause or menopause treatment regimen is well established and you are feeling well, follow-ups are typically needed every 6–12 months.

For metabolic health and weight management, follow-up frequency is decided collaboratively, as needs vary from person to person. Most patients are seen every 3–4 months to provide guidance, monitoring, and accountability.

Between scheduled visits, you can communicate with your provider through the secure patient portal, where medical questions and concerns are addressed in a timely manner.

5. What should I expect from my initial consultation?

Your initial visit is a comprehensive, in-depth appointment focused on understanding your health concerns and goals. We will review your medical history and any recent blood work from other providers.

For perimenopause and menopause consultations, we will discuss your current symptoms, provide education on menopause physiology, and—if appropriate—develop a personalized hormone treatment plan tailored to your needs. We may also order blood work or other diagnostic testing as needed to help guide your treatment plan.

Initial consultations typically last 60–90 minutes, allowing ample time for education, discussion, and individualized care.
